A Note Before We Begin

Hope doesn't have to end where grief begins.

Somewhere along the way, I became the person who stays.

The one who listens. The one who isn't afraid to say the name out loud.

Over the years, I've learned something about grief.

Most people don't need advice. They don't need silver linings, timelines, or someone to tell them everything happens for a reason.

More often than not, they need something much simpler.

They need someone willing to sit beside them. To listen to the story. To remember the person. To make room for both the pain and the love.

They need witness.

The Grieving Optimist was born from that belief.

This is a space for honest conversations about grief, loss, and the lives we continue to build around them. A place where sorrow and joy are allowed to exist together. Where we can tell the truth about what we've lost without losing sight of what remains.

You don't have to have the right words here. You don't have to be finished grieving. You don't have to carry it alone.

Whether you're grieving a person, a relationship, a version of yourself, or a future you thought you would have, I hope you find something here that reminds you you're not the only one.

Beginning July 7, I'll be sharing conversations and stories about grief, loss, and what it means to keep living after life changes forever.

I'll go first.

Let's begin.
